RESTAURANT FIRE RULED ACCIDENTAL
On Thursday, November 20 around 3:12pm, New Bern Fire-Rescue was dispatched to a reported structure fire at Sanuki restaurant located at 2311 Neuse Boulevard. Local EMS units reported seeing smoke coming from the building and the fire was immediately upgraded to a working fire. New Bern Fire-Rescue requested mutual aid from Stations 31 (West of New Bern Volunteer Fire Department) and 21 (Township 7 Volunteer Fire Department). FRCE expands fleet support with first CH-53K engine induction
Fleet Readiness Center East (FRCE) continues to expand its support of naval aviation’s heavy lift mission with the recent induction of a CH-53K King Stallion engine, the first of its kind to undergo depot-level maintenance. Following the first induction of a CH-53K King Stallion helicopter for maintenance at FRCE in April, the facility also inducted the platform’s first T408-GE-400 turboshaft engine for depot-level maintenance Sept. 9. CarolinaEast Medical Center was awarded an “A” Hospital Safety Grade for the fifth consecutive time by The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit watchdog focused on patient safety.
