Guests are encouraged to bring their own teacup and share its story at the table, but there will also be a selection of beautiful China teacups available to choose from. Hats are not required, but they always add special elegance to the event.
Tickets for the Annual Sandy Valentine Afternoon Par-Tea are $50 per person or $400 for a table of 8. Reservations or Donations with Regrets can be purchased online at www.triedbyfireinc.org/events or by sending a check to Tried By Fire, Inc., P. O. Box 12691, New Bern, NC 28561
“Sandy Valentine, a former New Bern resident, was very supportive of our mission to support women who are rebuilding their lives after incarceration, so she initiated this special tea party fundraiser in 2022. Proceeds benefit My Sister’s House, a transitional home in New Bern to help justice-involved women enjoy a safe and non-judgmental home environment from which they can build a better future,” explained Bonita Simmons, founder of Tried By Fire, Inc.
Tried By Fire, Inc.’s mission is to reduce recidivism and homelessness among justice-involved women, particularly post-incarceration, through their safe shelter, supportive, and non-judgmental program at My Sister’s House on Roundtree Street in New Bern. Tried By Fire, Inc. is a registered 501-c-3 non-profit organization.
