Swiss Bear is hosting BERNT, a brand-new VIP Bourbon and BBQ event at the luxurious Baxter’s 1892 on November 7, 2024!

This event is designed for connoisseurs of fine bourbon, newbies or those that are interested in trying a wide array of bourbons on the NC Bourbon Trail. If you have always dreamed of taking a trip through North Carolina just for the chance to explore interesting and new bourbons, then this event is for you—without leaving downtown New Bern!

BERNT Bourbon and BBQ also caters to foodies with refined palettes, with dishes carefully curated to pair with fine liquors, utilizing bourbon in the creation of marinades, sauces, and desserts. In keeping with a focus on North Carolina bourbons, the menu is a fresh spin on traditional savory comfort foods that are warm and inviting for the fall season.

With a $150 dollar ticket purchase, guests will receive dinner by Baxter’s 1892, a raffle entry for rare and allocated bourbon, one drink ticket for our signature event cocktails, and the opportunity to sample bourbon from NC distilleries on our NC Bourbon Trail from North Carolina distilleries like Weldon Mills, BHAWK, Mother Earth, Oaklore Distilling Company, and Cooks Mill Whiskey.

Donated bottles for the raffle are Weller 12 Year, Elmer T. Lee, Baxter’s Woodford Private Barrel, Bookers and more! Additional raffle entries will be available for purchase at the event so you can increase your chances to own a rare, coveted selection.

The event will feature an exclusive menu designed by Executive Chef Chris Maravelas, and will begin at 6:00pm with open seating and butler passed delicacies such as smoked pork belly, burnt ends and riblets. Dinner includes brisket, ribs, and chicken, Cowboy caviar, a cabbage slaw, fire-roasted poblano and cheddar corn bread, twice baked potatoes, molten chocolate cake and bourbon apple cobbler.

The drink ticket grants you a Bernt Signature event cocktail, or a neat or on-the-rocks pour from the events’ selected liquor offerings.
