New Poetry book by local author and artists

Bank of the Arts, 317 Middle St

June 20, 2026, 2pm-3pm

Join us for the unveiling of the book cover for Polyhymnia and an intimate conversation exploring how poetry, art, and photography converged to bring the book from vision to print, and Bank of the Arts on June 20 th from 2pm-3pm. The event will feature the author, Sheena Powell, along with artist Ashley McDaniels and photographer Nick Mathews. This event is free and open to public.

Polyhymnia is a debut collection of poems by Sheena Powell, inspired by beauty, love, and the rhythm of life. Inspired by the Greek goddess Polyhymnia, Sheena Powell’s first published collection of poems is a genuine passion of truth, beauty, and love, drawing inspiration from nature, worldly relationships, and art with music as muse. Polyhymnia is a rhythmic observation of the ebb and flow of life, the elevation of the ordinary, and a tribute to the creative process. The cover of the book features unique artwork by Ashley McDaniels, and photographed by Nick Mathews.

Guests will have a special opportunity to pre-order Polyhymnia at a discount ahead of its official release in October 2026. Pre-orders from Finishing Line Press begin June 8, 2026. The book will be released on October 9, 2026.
