SAVE THE DATE FOR THE 15^TH ANNUAL BSH OKTOBERFEST HOSTED BY NEW BERN ROTARY CLUB
 
New Bern, January 26, 2026:   The New Bern Breakfast Rotary Club has set September 26, 2026, as the date for the 15^th Annual BSH Oktoberfest event that serves as a major fundraiser to support their “Kicks-For-Kids” program as well as local scholarships and other charitable activities in the community.
 
New features this year will include offering an event-only ticket for the festivities, and a separate meal ticket for enjoying a traditional hot German buffet that will include new menu items. The popular Little German Band will be back to lead everyone in music and dancing as well as some of their special performances, including the Chicken Dance, complete with a costumed chicken.
 
Oktoberfest 2026 will add special activities for children to emphasize this is a great family event. Of course, for the grownups, there will still be plenty of beer in the true German Oktoberfest tradition and the challenging Stein Holding Contest.

Sponsorships offer area businesses the opportunity to support the efforts of New Bern Breakfast Rotary Charities in our community. “This is our primary annual fundraiser that helps us provide shoes for children throughout Craven County as well as scholarships and support for other community donations throughout the year,” said Rodger Allison, co-chair of this year’s Oktoberfest event. “This year we were able to purchase 400 pairs of shoes for elementary and middle school children thanks to our sponsors and the success of Oktoberfest 2025. We also awarded $10,000 in scholarships for graduating seniors, a nursing student at Craven Community College, and the VOLT Center,” he explained.

The Rotary Club of New Bern Breakfast meets each Thursday morning from 7:30 to 8:30 AM, and on the 2^nd and 4^th Thursday evenings from 5:30 to 6:30 PM, at the Ghent Event Center, 1918 Dr. MLK Jr. Blvd, New Bern. Visitors are always welcome.
