(NEW BERN, NC) January 26, 2026 - If you crave plump, salty oysters, shrimp and barbeque, then Winterfeast is a must do for you! The Tryon Palace Foundation’s Winterfeast returns to the North Carolina History Center in New Bern, NC, on Saturday, March 14, and features the best of eastern North Carolina fare. Feast on bushels of steamed, juicy oysters, freshly roasted pork barbeque, shrimp, shrimp and grits and plenty of savory sides like mac n’ cheese, jambalaya, and apple cobbler, prepared by many of New Bern’s fabulous local restaurants.
This year, Molasses Creek, a nationally acclaimed group from Ocracoke, NC, will be performing. For 30 years, Molasses Creek has been delivering high-energy performances and heartfelt songwriting throughout the United States and world. All in attendance will be toe-tapping and dancing!
Winterfeast is the Tryon Palace Foundation’s must popular and successful fundraiser. It is a great way to come out and show your support for Tryon Palace, a part of DNCR, while enjoying eastern North Carolina fare and entertainment. All proceeds raised benefit the Tryon Palace Foundation and their mission to support Tryon Palace Historic Site and Gardens and the North Carolina History Center. Tryon Palace serves to inspire today’s visitors and those of future generations by protecting, preserving, and developing the legacy of eastern North Carolina’s past with stories of our rich and diverse history.
Winterfeast is a rain, or shine event, but no need to worry about the weather forecast for that day! The event takes place at the North Carolina History Center, 529 S. Front Street, New Bern, and under a tent on Bate Commons overlooking the Trent River. There will be plenty of seating and tables indoors at the North Carolina History Center where Molasses Creek will be performing for your enjoyment.
Winterfeast General Admission tickets are $65.00, with entry to the event at 6:30 PM. Foundation members receive a $5.00 discount on their ticket purchases. VIP tickets are available to Foundation members and event sponsors and are $95.00. VIP tickets offer one-hour early entry to the event at 5:30 PM, and a Winterfeast oyster knife with towel. Wine and beer will be available for purchase. Don’t forget your oyster knives, but if you do, there will be limited quantities for sale.
