Eastern Carolina YMCA to Host First Annual Community Prayer Breakfast

New Bern, NC – April 27, 2026 – The Eastern Carolina YMCA will host its First Annual Community Prayer Breakfast on Thursday, May 14 at the Twin Rivers YMCA, inviting community members from across the region to gather for a morning of connection, reflection,
and inspiration.

The event will begin with breakfast at 6:30 am, followed by a program at 7:30 am. Seating is limited to 150 attendees. There is no cost to attend; however, advance registration is required.

Designed as an inclusive, community-centered gathering, the Prayer Breakfast will bring together faith leaders, elected officials, civic organizations, and neighbors from across our region, representing all faiths and walks of life. The event creates space for meaningful connection and shared purpose, centered on the values that strengthen and uplift our community.

“This breakfast is about creating a welcoming space where people can connect, reflect, and be inspired by our shared commitment to strengthening our community,” said Kelly Millington, CEO of the Eastern Carolina YMCA.

The YMCA is honored to welcome guest speaker Willie Spears, a nationally recognized speaker, author, and educator with more than 30 years of experience in leadership development. Spears has worked extensively with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and has served as a chapel speaker for collegiate athletic programs across the country, including Clemson, Florida State, and Oklahoma. His message will focus on leadership, service, and the values that help communities thrive.

The Eastern Carolina YMCA hopes this inaugural event will become an annual tradition that brings people together in a spirit of unity, encouragement, and shared purpose. Those interested may register online at: ecymca.org/news-events
