Art exhibition featuring the artwork of local high school students

Bank of the Arts, 317 Middle St
May 2026

Craven Arts Council & Gallery is proud to present the work of New Bern High School students in the Director’s Gallery for the month of May. This exhibition features the work of upper-level visual art students, as students have created a full body of work throughout the course of their art education. The opening reception will be during ArtWalk on Friday, May 8th from 5 – 8 pm at the Bank of the Arts.

This exhibition features exceptional student art work from the art department at New Bern High School. Work is selected from students both in the National Art Honors Society and who have shown a great ability and dedication to growing as artists. The work reflects techniques practiced throughout their educational career, and thought process for tackling certain thematic goals. Students brainstorm and visually plan for each creation, with the goal of effectively communicating their themes and styles to their viewers. Artwork will feature various mediums, styles, and techniques. Visit us at Bank of the Arts from Tuesday – Saturday 10 am – 5pm.

Bank of the Arts is home to the Craven Arts Council & Gallery, a Craven County art gallery and council, free and open to the public Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm.
