Craven Community College Students to Host Earth Day Cleanup at New Bern's Lawson Creek Park April 21

NEW BERN – Students in Craven Community College's (Craven CC) Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society, Student Veterans of America (SVA) and Outdoors Club will participate in an Earth Day cleanup Tuesday, April 21, from 3-4 p.m. at Lawson Creek Park.

“This event is about more than just picking up trash," said Zeid Awawdeh, president of the Alpha Phi Nu Chapter. "It’s about building a stronger connection between our students and the community while taking pride in the place we call home. We hope this becomes a meaningful annual tradition that brings people together for a common cause.”

Nestled along the picturesque Trent River, Lawson Creek Park spans 140 acres.

Students, families and residents throughout Craven County are invited to participate in this community-wide effort to reduce litter and protect local natural spaces. All clean-up supplies will be provided.
