NEW BERN — Craven Community College (Craven CC) is bringing learning closer to home this fall with CravenCC In Your Community, a new series of free weekly classes at the Stanley White Recreation Center in New Bern.
The initiative is designed to connect community members with practical information, skills and resources in a convenient, familiar location. The first offerings include separate four-week series for young adults ages 18-24 and adults, with topics ranging from technology and financial literacy to career exploration, college preparation, nutrition and wellness.
“CravenCC In Your Community is about meeting people where they are and making valuable resources easier to access,” said Zomar Peter, Craven CC Associate Vice President for Students. “We want community members to know that Craven Community College is a resource for them, whether they’re exploring a career, thinking about college, learning a new skill or simply looking for information that can improve their everyday lives.”
