CAROLINAEAST HEALTH SYSTEM NAMED AMONG NEWSWEEK’S AMERICA’S BEST PHYSICAL REHAB CENTERS

CarolinaEast Health System has been recognized on Newsweek’s list of America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers 2024. This prestigious award is presented by Newsweek and Statista Inc., the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider. The 2024 list lands CarolinaEast Rehabilitation Hospital as #4 in North Carolina. The facility has been ranked by Newsweek among the top four in N.C. for the last four years in a row.

The America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers 2024 ranking awards the leading physical rehabilitation facilities in the U.S. that were identified according to the definition of Inpatient Rehabilitation Facilities (IRFs) by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). IRFs are free-standing rehabilitation hospitals and rehabilitation units in acute care hospitals. CarolinaEast Rehabilitation Hospital is a comprehensive medical rehabilitation facility serving coastal Carolina. The rehabilitation hospital consists of 20 beds and is located on the first floor of CarolinaEast Medical Center. They are CARF Accredited, as well as a recipient of the Joint Commission’s Stroke Rehabilitation Certification.

Newsweek and Statista developed a complex methodology to ensure the quality and validity of the ranking. Four data sources were used for the evaluation, including a national online survey among experts, patient satisfaction, accreditation, and quality metrics.

Earlier this year, the New Bern hospital was also recognized on Newsweek’s list of World’s Best Hospitals 2024, America’s Best-In-State Hospitals 2024 and America’s Best Cancer Hospitals 2024. Additionally, CarolinaEast has received the American Heart Association’s Get with the Guidelines – Stroke Gold Plus quality achievement award for its commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines, ultimately leading to more lives saved and reduced disability.
