Candidate Forum for the Arts

Craven Arts Council & Gallery is hosting a Candidate Forum for local government candidates on September 10th, 6:30 pm at Bank of the Arts, 317 Middle Street, New Bern, NC. This forum will provide an opportunity for running candidates to speak for 3 minutes each followed by mingle with the public following the presentations. This event is free and open to the public, and will feature light refreshments, including beer and wine. Craven Arts will not endorse or support any candidate in any particular role, and offers this event as an opportunity to public for the community.

Early voting in New Bern, North Carolina is September 18th- October 4th at Stanley White Recreation Center. The voters of each of New Bern’s six wards elect one alderman to represent the ward additionally voting for the major. The six-member Board of Aldermen collectively vote to decide local issues, oversee the general operation of the city and approve the budget. Aldermen advocate for all community members from families to single houses, first responders and service workers and recreation and arts.
