Breeze Airways Celebrates One Year of Service at Coastal Carolina Regional Airport

Coastal Carolina Regional Airport (EWN) and Breeze Airways are celebrating a successful first year of partnership as the airline marks its one-year anniversary serving the Historic New Bern area this May.

Since launching nonstop flights to Orlando, Florida, and Hartford, Connecticut on May 24, 2024, Breeze Airways has seen strong and steady demand, reinforcing the region’s growing need for expanded air travel options. The two destinations have become EWN’s #1 and #2 markets in passenger generation, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation.

“We’ve had a phenomenal first year with Breeze Airways,” said Andrew Shorter, Airport Director. “The response has been outstanding, and it shows the strong community support and demand for new travel options from our region. Breeze’s presence has opened the skies for more people in Eastern North Carolina.”

Over the past 12-months, Breeze has offered over 55,000 arriving and departing seats on over 400 flight operations and provided affordable, convenient access to two of the region’s most sought-after destinations, enhancing connectivity and boosting economic and tourism opportunities for Historic New Bern and the surrounding area.

Breeze Airways launched service in New Bern as its 50th market in May 2024. The airline flies the 137-seat Airbus A220, providing comfortable, fuel-efficient service.

The successful launch of Breeze and continued growth at EWN was made possible by a coordinated effort from several key community organizations, including Craven County Government, the Craven 100 Alliance (C1A), and the Craven County Tourism Development Authority.
