Tried By Fire, Inc. is pleased to extend an invitation to a Black & White Gala event on Saturday, November 22 to benefit a local group in Pamlico County who are working to establish The INN at Pamlico, a safe and supportive shelter for women when they are released from prison or jail. The intended facility will be a safe transitional home for post-incarcerated women who truly desire a new beginning.
“After a person has paid their debt to society, if they do not have a safe place to live, with a viable address, they have little to no chance of carrying out their commitments and desires to start over and build a better life,” said Lorriane Yaeger, one of the founders of The INN at Pamlico. “We are a small but dedicated group of people in Pamlico County who are working with Tried By Fire, Inc. to build something similar to My Sister’s House, a successful re-entry home in New Bern,” she explained.
The goal of the Gala on November 22 is to raise the $50,000 needed to purchase a plot of land in Bayboro on which to build The INN. The event will take place at the Grove & Vine, 45 White Farm Road in Oriental, beginning at 6:00 pm. In addition to the dinner and dancing, a Silent Auction will add to the festivities.
Tickets are $75 for individuals, $125 for couples, and $600 for tables for eight guests. To purchase tickets or for further information, please contact triedbyfire1@yahoo.com or call 252-637-2339.
