Auditions Jan 11 for Hallowed Ground Lantern Tour

NEW BERN, NC, The New Bern Historical Society invites you to audition to portray exciting storytelling characters in their event, the Hallowed Ground Lantern Tour in March. Auditions will be held January 11, 11am-1pm at the Attmore-Oliver House at 511 Broad Street. Actors will be asked to read from scripts. The Lantern Tour is presented in New Bern Battlefield Park, site of the first Battle of New Bern.

The fourth annual Hallowed Ground Lantern Tour will take place in the evenings, March 20-22, 2025. Visitors will take a 60-minute guided, lantern-lit walk through the wooded battlefield trails, where spirits from New Bern's Civil War past will share their inspiring stories of courage and conviction. The characters will be different from the previous Lantern Tour presentations, but their stories will be poignant and touching. And the visitors will learn about the Civil War era in New Bern. This is not a recreation of the war, but instead real, historical accounts from the people who found themselves in New Bern during this time in history.

If you’d like to be involved as one of these characters, or in any capacity, please come to the auditions Saturday, January 11, 11am-1pm at the Attmore-Oliver House at 511 Broad Street. The Lantern Tour is March 20-22, 2025.
