Seeking: Are you the person friends call when they can’t figure out a plumbing fitting, fastener, or repair project? Can you walk someone through finding the right reducer, matching a bolt, troubleshooting a sprinkler issue, or helping tackle an unexpected project problem?

We’re looking for someone with strong hardware knowledge who enjoys helping customers solve problems—not just stocking shelves. Our store is old-school hardware: customers come here for answers, not aisle numbers.

The right person will have working knowledge across multiple areas including plumbing fittings, hardware, tools, fasteners, lawn & garden, and general home repair. You don’t need to know everything, but you should be naturally curious, resourceful, and comfortable figuring things out.

Because we’re a small team in a large store, everyone helps everywhere. This role requires flexibility, customer service skills, and a willingness to jump between departments as needed.

Position Description: Hardware sales specialist assisting customers throughout the store by providing knowledgeable, friendly service and helping solve project needs. The position includes working the sales floor, answering customer questions, helping customers locate products, identifying plumbing fittings and hardware parts, matching fasteners, stocking merchandise, operating the register, and supporting multiple departments including hardware, home, garden, and gifts.

Positions: Part-time position available, with the possibility of future full-time hours for the right fit.

Availability: Flexible schedule preferred, including mornings, evenings, and some holidays. Mondays and Saturdays required. Time off granted with notice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist customers in finding what they need on the sales floor
  • Stock and replenish merchandise on the main sales floor
  • Operate the cash register efficiently and accurately
  • Adapt to various tasks and changes
  • Foster genuine connections with locals and tourists and assist them with their needs.

Requirements:

  • Physical ability to lift boxes, stand for long periods, walk up and down stairs **
  • Positive attitude and friendly demeanor
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
