Merchandising & Stock Associate - Gift Store

Do you love organizing, working behind the scenes, and making spaces look beautiful and inviting? We’re looking for a friendly, detail-oriented team member to join our locally owned general store. We specialize in hardware, home goods, gardening supplies, gifts, and souvenirs. We take pride in providing helpful service and a welcoming shopping experience.
 
Position Summary:
This role focuses on stocking, organization, and curating seasonal displays, while also supporting the front-of-store team as needed with customer service, gift wrapping, register duties, and light cleaning. This position may include key holder responsibilities, store closing duties, and weekend shifts.
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Stock and replenish merchandise on the main sales floor
  • Design and set up seasonal displays that are creative, tidy, and aligned with store themes
  • Organize and maintain inventory in our upstairs stock area
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Provide customer service, gift wrapping, register duties, and general store upkeep. This is mostly needed during high-volume times, weekends, and holidays.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Enjoys organizing and takes pride in a well-stocked, attractive space
  • Has a creative eye for displays and presentation
  • Can safely lift and move boxes up and down stairs
  • Comfortable working independently but also enjoys being part of a small, friendly team
  • Willing to pitch in with customer service and general tasks as needed
Requirements:
  • Physical ability to lift boxes, stand for long periods, walk up and down stairs **
  • Positive attitude and friendly demeanor.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Adaptability to change and new tasks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enthusiasm for connecting with others and providing excellent customer service.
Bonus Skills (not required):
  • Retail or merchandising experience
  • Experience in gardening, hardware, or home goods
