Craven Arts Council & Gallery (CAC&G) is proud to present their For the Record exhibition,
featuring artwork created from vinyl records. Artists used vinyl records from CAC&G’s album collection as the predominant medium in their creations – encouraging artist to explore a variety of themes and styles. An open reception will be hosted at Artwalk on Friday, March 13th from 5 – 8 pm, inviting the
public to view and purchase exhibited artwork, on display for the month of March, will awards
announced at 6 pm.

CAC&G offered artists up to 20 records from a large donated collection. Artists were encouraged
to explore the medium creatively, with paint, glue, & other mediums to create new works of art. All
artworks featured in exhibition will be judged for prizes by Dare Oliver. Dare Oliver grew up in Carteret
County and graduated with a BA in Photojournalism and Graphic Design from UNC-Chapel Hill. She most
recently worked as the Coordinator of Fine Arts and Director of Marketing at The Epiphany School of
Global Studies in New Bern. Having just retired, Oliver is learning to play guitar, writing song lyrics, and
learning to paint. She can be found performing in 'The Bonafides -- a string band with reckless abandon'
-- alongside her husband, George and dearest friends. She also enjoys listening to George play banjo on
the front porch and watching his silly shenanigans on the theatre stage. For more information about this

Bank of the Arts is home to the Craven Arts & Gallery, a free entry art gallery open Tuesday – Saturday, 10 am – 5 pm.
