The Rotary Club of New Bern Breakfast invites the public to ‘Discover Rotary’ at an informal and informational event on Tuesday, December 9, from 5:30 to 7:00 pm, at the Taberna Country Club, 401 Taberna Way in New Bern. Those interested in attending are asked to RSVP to Carolyn Perrigo (cperrigo38@gmail.com) or Tammy Allison (rogerandtammy@outlook.com) by December 8, although walk-in guests are welcome.
“Our Breakfast Rotary Club is reaching out to those in the community who may be interested in getting more involved with our active service-oriented club or just knowing more about this international organization that has more than 1.4 million members in over 34,000 clubs around the world,” said Carolyn Perrigo part of the club’s Membership Committee. “This event is meant to introduce guests to our local Rotary club that offers networking, leadership opportunities, and community services projects among its many membership benefits. We develop strong friendships and have a lot of fun,” she added.
The event will include a brief presentation with an overview of Rotary International as well as information about the New Bern Breakfast Club. “Rotary offers everyone an opportunity to be involved locally but also have an impact globally,” said Tammy Allison, a member of the evening Satellite Club. She explained this “Discover Rotary” event is meant to explain the purpose and vision of Rotary which says, Together, we see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.”
